Software licensed for Administrative usage may only be used by UMass employees. This includes institutional research and any such use related to reporting about the University to the University.
All usage that does not fall under Teaching and Research is considered Administrative. Any other use of the T&R license, including but not limited to university administration and operations is strictly prohibited. Non-commercial academic research means research by faculty members where the results of such research are not intended primarily for the benefit of a third party such results are made available to anyone without restriction on use, copying or further distribution and any copy of such result is furnished for no more than the cost of hosting, reproduction, and shipping. Teaching/Research usage is limited to Faculty engaging in non-commercial research activities, classroom instruction, and coursework directly related to the UMass's degree requirements.This includes the formulation of theses and dissertations. Please review the definitions below to confirm that your use qualifies as Teaching and Research: For Administrative usage, a different license must be purchased directly from IBM. Our license for IBM SPSS Statistics is limited to “Teaching and Research” usage.
